HKJFKL

For years I notice that KFC is willing to hire people with... some mental issues(sorry if that sounded crude). Like just today, there was a guy working at KFC who kept mumbling to himself. I used to wonder why KFC would hire such people. I mean, c'mon, I once saw a cleaner at KFC apparently shouting at a customer(although everyone simply ignored her). Then I realized that, despite their..."setbacks", these people still try to work and survive. In a way, I've grown to respect them and KFC for actually giving these people a chance to work.

Waikiki was fun! I screwed up my favorite part really badly, but a lot of my friends told me they liked my music! :) The music was a bit too loud though. Pity the archery club whose booth was directly in front of the big speakers!

Saw Cosfest on Sunday, and while some are good, others were... not so good. When I go AFA this year, I'm gonna wow the crowd!!!

Turning Up A Notch

Finally settled my last midterms paper today! Went home to get a well-deserved sleep to make up for my lack of sleep the night before!

Midterms was okay. I totally screwed up my MA paper (got back the paper today), but that's not going to faze me. I'm not too confident with my FA paper, because I kind of spent too much time on the front half. BGS was better than I expected, although it's because of the hard work I put into it(studied till 3 plus in the morning and the paper was 9am). Today's Econs paper was faster than the time given, and I was kind of stoning for quite a bit. I mean, whatever I knew I had poured out onto the paper. Staring at the questions would not make me suddenly know more stuff. So after checking through my answers 4 times, prof said we could submit and leave early. Thank God!

If anything, I kind of woke up. Thanks for sending me that wake-up call. It was like a tight slap across my face, but I appreciate it. Really shook me up. Honest.

Recess week! Gonna use that time to start with all the projects and catch up with my revisions! Rawr!

'Nuff Said

Sure it's weird for me to like all these.

But at least they will never hurt me the way you do.

Batman Beyond

Recently, I went to download the complete series of Batman Beyond, a really old cartoon I used to watch. It came after the The New Batman Adventures, and it portrayed Bruce Wayne as an old man, mentoring a new Batman.

I have to admit, despite my love for the current Batman, I really like the Batman of the future too. I was really impressed with how they created this whole new character from scratch, and the plot to make it that way. And that is why the first two episodes of the Batman Beyond series are the most amazing(and important) episodes to me.

The first few minutes show how Bruce Wayne, whose age was catching up with him, decided to end his career as Batman. Needing to rely on the one thing he swore off, Bruce Wayne realizes that he could no longer fight crime as Batman. This idea, to me, was a really smart situation to make him end his Batman career. Because apart from that, there's possibly no other way to reach that conclusion.

We then move to the future, where we get to meet Terry McGinnis. And the driving point to make that kid want to be Batman: avenge the death of his father.

I somehow cannot help but to feel that it seems rather similar to how Spider-man decided that "With great power, comes great responsibility". Kid comes home, only to find his dad/uncle dead, regrets his last words to his old man, and dons the costume to get vengeance.

In this series, we see Terry juggling his teenage life and life as Batman, not something you get to see with the present-day Batman. This gives a... fresh new feeling of watching Batman. I have to admit, the series is good such that it shows a rookie superhero matures and become the Batman worthy of continuing the legacy.

The best part is that, even after the end of the series, a final episode in the Justice League Unlimited animated series actually acted as a closure for Batman Beyond.

Batman Beyond is somewhat darker, where people are implied to be killed, and plots are not as light-hearted. One good example was the movie, Return of the Joker. However, this series has proven to have really interesting storylines, making it one of the most impressive

Traffic Light Party

Last night was Traffic Light party! And despite being one of the earlier DJs to spin(meaning there was nobody on the dance floor at that time) I still enjoyed spinning and the event was awesome! Never thought I'd get so high at the event! There were a lot of epic moments like that knocked out guy who was left outside the toilet. And the girls there were hot! Well, a number of them.

Mid-terms next week. Bummer.

Valentine's is arriving! As usual, no plans on that day. But for once, I'm actually not bothered (even though I told my friends that we must get a date this year). I'm actually quite tired of trying to pursue, and merely end up hurting myself. It's easy for them girls: if they want you, they keep you dancing around their palm, if not they'll just toss you aside and wait for the next guy that comes along.

And seriously. Why does everyone seem so shocked that I'm single???!!!

If I've learned anything, it's to never trust my heart ever again.

Weekend?

Well, technically this is suppose to be my long weekly weekend, but I've make-up class on Saturday to make up for last Tuesday's lesson which was postponed due to Chinese New Year. Means I've got to wake up at 8:30am in the morning on Saturday! Bummer.

School's been getting exhausting. It feels like I've more readings to do this semester. And as much as I try to tell myself to study harder this semester, I feel like I'm not doing enough. Need to get motivated!
