Another Clay Day

Hmm the last post I did was on Sunday, so I guess I have Monday till now to sum up. But honestly, I can't remember much.

Monday was the midterm paper. The practice midterm paper was rather easy, so everyone pretty much guessed that the real paper couldn't be so bad. How wrong we were. There was a total of 5 questions, and we had 2 hours to complete it. After one hour, I had only completed two questions. It sucks to panic and knowing that you don't have much time left and fear that you cannot finish the paper and WHY ARE THE QUESTIONS SO HARD! Yep, something like that. I know I probably won't score well, I just hope I don't score too poorly. But honestly, all I care about right now is Transformers 3!

Yesterday I was nearly late for class. I just felt...lethargic that day. Also, on the way to school I realized I was not holding my laptop. First thing that came to mind was, Shit, can't believe I left it at home. Around 5 minutes later, I remembered I had put the laptop into the bag that I was carrying. I also ate Jack & Jill potato chips during break. It was such a long time since I ate it! I wondered why I did not eat it for a long time, and after eating so much of it, I now know. It was because after a while I tend to get sick of the taste of it. Hence, I won't eat it for another long time!

Went to gym today, and there was this old man who just stood in the middle of the gym and scratched his butt for around 30 seconds(according to the treadmill I was running on). He repeated this action in front of the water cooler. When I see someone doing something I believe others will perceive as weird, I wonder if that person realizes what he doing is weird, or maybe to him it is okay. After all, people have different mindsets. I wonder if I do anything in public that people think it's weird. Hmmm...

Time to do my clay again! Hope second time's the charm!

Just watched finish Easy A again, and I still enjoy it! Emma Stone is not exactly the "hot" kind of girl, but she's pretty and cool in her way. First time I saw her was in Zombieland, and she was amazing in that film too.

Cranky

Okay, maybe I'm being unreasonable being really cranky and pissed because of this, but I'll just say it nonetheless.

Don't F*** my meals.

I feel real stupid for not deciding to eat with my family.

I'll blog when I'm in a better mood.

Last Words

Finally done with my preparations for tomorrow's mid-term paper! I decided to blog before I turn in, so here goes.

Went to do newspaper collection today, and we somehow collected this pink box with a lot of straw-folded hearts and love letters. Basically, it's some very young girl in a "relationship" with some very young boy who has a lot of tattoos. Puppy love, Singapore-style.

Nothing much to say about today, so let's jump backwards to yesterday. Well, I remember having a committee meeting for iConserve, and dinner with family. Love the fried chicken wings! They are just amazing! The deer meat and chili crab were awesome too, and I accidentally got the chili in my eye which burned for a minute or so.haha

I recall seeing this old couple at a table beside ours, sharing a huge plate of noodles. When I saw them like that, I felt a bit lonely and sad for them. Their kids already have their own lives, and now they only have each other for company. But I also felt quite... respectful that they are still together at such an old age. It's like, never-wavering kind of love. Unlike those relationships you see celebrities having -.- I mean, this is just my perspective.

The day before was spent at Fat Boy's, and the burger was bloody huge! Ignore the fact that the quantity of fries were little, because the burger itself was just murder. After downing the burger I had to struggle to force down the last couple of fries. And the milkshake was so awesome yet thick, I ended up only consuming half of it! Thank goodness the water was free flow! Needed a lot of water to wash down the meal! Played lan after that, which was quite a while since we last did.

After tomorrow's paper, I want to focus on my clay and look forward to Transformers 3!

All the managing of the band is really interesting. Trying to make decisions for what is better for the band and all, it's really something new to me. Like when Cheney asked if his friend, who was keen to join, could join the band. I remembered what CR said about "quite bad to turn down a person with the passion", yet I felt that the band did not need an acoustic guitarist. I weighed the pros and cons and decided that I could not accept him into the band. I guess it was the right thing, yet I felt bad about it. Am I simply the blind leading the blind?

Trying out Tumblr. Kinda gave up on Twitter again.LOL

Not sure if I missed out anything I wanted to say. Oh well. If so I'll blog it next time!

We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day

I've just watched the last episode of Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, translated as "We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day", or AnoHana in short. I expected it to end after 13 episodes, which is usually the number of episodes on season of an anime. So when I downloaded episode 11 and saw the word "Final" on the title, I was pretty shocked.

After the cliffhanger of the previous episode, I expected 3 episodes to cover Menma's true wish before she can move on to Heaven. However, they managed to put it into one episode, which is quite a good move. The last episode was filled with emotions and truths, and saying goodbye to a childhood friend is rather sad yet touching, so I admit, I did tear up seeing the characters opening up to each other like that. And when everyone could finally see Menma before she moved on was just so touching...

In a whole, this anime was rather good. Sure, it was not exactly slice of life or comedy kind, which is my usual preference in anime, but I like the story and how the characters feel so realistic that we can relate to. And even though I knew that the ending would be a tearjerker, I could not stop myself from, well, getting my tears jerked (okay that sounded a bit wrong). I love AnoHana, as in the anime. I never say I love the character.haha

Goodbye, Menma

Clay Day

Went to mold the clay today, for my visor. Basically, it's much, much harder than I expected. Kept remolding, because I was trying to get the shape out and the measurements correct. My mom was really helpful, even buying the roller thingy for me when I realized I actually needed it. The final product is not as... "perfect" as I expected, but I guess it's good enough. I won't know until I bake it and sand it and spray paint it. I really hope that it does not break after the baking, because I heard that clay can break quite easily. So f#$%ing scared it will. I mean, I have time to make another I guess, but I'm not sure I can do it as well again. I still have the suit and the feet part to plan out. It sounds impossible, but I'm gonna give it my all. I've always given up on things without trying, and it's time for a change. Reward is directly proportional to effort put in.

Went to practice the songs in the evening. Just playing the songs actually gives me the sense of thrill and satisfaction. Makes me kinda look forward towards tomorrow's jamming. I wonder if the rest feels the same way?

Management science is getting tricky, but I'm going to keep trying and learning! Love the professor! Final exam will not test whatever chapters we were tested in mid-term exam, which is like music to my ears!

Music (,Youtube ) & Lyrics

I'm in school now, lesson's in half hour's time, and I thought I'd take some time to blog.

Because I seldom update the music library in my laptop, I don't have the latest songs in it, which is a bummer. So i come to my blog and listen to my MixPod, where I have the latest songs. Then, I started using the playlist feature of Youtube. Fortunately my school internet is fast enough for me to listen to the videos without any pause, so it's as good as using my music player to play what I have in my library. Youtube is really awesome! Now I'm playing a playlist of Blink-182 songs! Old school punk rock! Oh, and I have a playlist for My Favorite Martian songs. Really funny music videos! haha

Sunday was newspaper collection, and I hit my ankle on the makeshift trolley. There was a bruise, and I'm guessing it is because of all the walking around, that aggravated my injury until it kinda hurt. Left early for family dinner, which was cool because I drove my family car for the first time! Went on the expressway, and did a parallel parking too! My parents kept telling me to do this and that, which were rather distracting and conflicting, hence I kept going in and out. When I decided to do it my way, I went in in one try. LOL Had trouble sleeping last night because of my aching ankle.

Fortunately, it's getting better already. Means I can continue running! Must keep fit and slim down!

Studies, jamming, friends, my costume... need some time management here! So many things to juggle at the same time.

I think I'm losing interest in anime already...

No time for Dota. Don't even have time for my Super Hero Squad Online!

Blame The Coke

Let's see. Study whole day, went to Jeff's house at night (still not sure why I went) and then had Burger King at East Coast Park. The last one happened after CR, Kenny and I, riding Kenny's car, dropped Violet off. I was complaining my hunger and need for supper, so we got lost navigated our way to East Coast Park for Burger King drive-thru, and parked the car somewhere to eat. It was a sinful meal, but I personally had fun! Munching away and talking cock at 2am in the morning is quite interesting.

I should be sleeping, but the King-size Coke is keeping me awake! Thanks for the upsize from Large to King, CR.lol

Somehow, I'm really looking forward to jamming :3

Newspaper collection tomorrow! Sweat, sweat and more sweat!

Ordered my zentai suit! I shall get my costume done and hopefully join the cosplay competition! We only live once, right?

Goodnight good people!

Setting A (New) Course

It's been quite a while since I blogged, considering I'm one of the remaining people of an endangered blogging population.haha Anyway, school term 3B started this week, and I'm doing Management Science. Turns out it's mathematics(so far)! Which I really like, as compared to the previous term. I mean, it's maths! Who needs motivation when you got interest? But it's only the first week, so it may be too soon to say.

I kinda finished the class questions ahead of the class, so I decided to try out Cabal and play my Super Hero Squad Online :D

And using Microsoft Excel to solve the questions is just awesome! And Excel is rather fun and easy to pick up. Plus, useful in future when I start working. Ugh. Working life will bore me. It's like a monotonous cycle, full of assignments and back-stabbing people. Better enjoy my 4 years in university!

One friend of mine posted this on her wall, and I was laughing when I saw this. Looking at the guy made me laugh even more. He got that typical "pervert" look, if you ask me. But ladies, do watch out for sickos like him.

The guys and I killed the Phoenix in Dota v6.69! Took us so long, but we actually did it! Unfortunately, it meant we slept at past midnight, hence the following day I was quite... unfocused in class.LOL

Not much to blog this week, since I was mostly studying :x Studying so much yesterday, with my lack of sleep, left me brain-dead.

"Can't understand?
I'll slow it down for you."

Need to find time to go analyze the songs. Can't wait for Friday!

Back to the books.

"Wow! A wristwatch!"

Another Untitled Post!

Went to PC show for a second time, with CR this time, who was looking for speakers and earphones. I bought my headphones! 10% discount, not exactly much cheaper. But still like them nonetheless.

I thought the Urbanears one is red, but turns out it is "Tomato" colour. Serious! There's actually such a colour in the series. Red is a "different" colour. So technically the asshole at the PC show gave me the wrong colour -.- Although, there is hardly any visible difference in red and tomato colour. So I'll close one eye.

Jamming was much better than anticipated! CR didn't seem disappointed, which is good I guess. He was impressed with how well Cheney played too. I was quite shocked that the rest were shocked to be playing the set of 5 songs for 3-4 times during the session. At least we jammed "efficiently"! Shall make Kenny get used to such "hardcore" jamming! But I'm not one to speak. My strumming finger was nearly close to bleeding I think. But to play such awesome songs, and to do so quite well as a band was rather fun. So fun that I could not help but smile to myself at this good feeling. The feeling of truly playing some music :) Shall plan next jamming very soon!

Those thoughts are getting worse recently. Maybe I need to see a psychiatrist? o.O

(No) Plans For Today

Wow, decided to update myself with music and I realized how tiring it is to go and obtain all the songs. And I've yet to put them in my iTunes. Bummer.haha

Not sure what I'll today. Maybe practice my bass?

Just listening to Hey Monday spurs my jamming spirit! XD

Think I'll take a nap now!

It's The Little Things That Spoils The Day

Well, today was eventful! First Kenny and I went to gym! Oh wait. Before that we played Dota, and it didn't go too well. Got owned in the first game, but second game we were winning. Then host leave all because we slaughtered all his teammates and we were converging onto him next. A-hole...hahaha Gym was rather short, and Kenny went over to my place to shower. Surprised he didn't mind the really small shower.

Next we went to attend Jokhie's dad's wake. I had a lot of trouble finding the location on the street directory, mostly because we mistook "Blk 37" as "Blk 57".haha We went there, paid our respects, and left when Jokhie had to do some prayers.

PC show! Took us quite some time to find a parking lot, but we eventually did. And one directly under the convention centre! Sweet! Kenny looked at laptops, while I looked at the girls giving out flyers. Not very impressive, but the one at Toshiba sector was hot! If only I knew how to play Starcraft II :P And as usual, so many laptops were playing SNSD videos -.-

Picked CR up and went to Shabu Shabu to feast! CR initially did not want to eat, but who can sit there and watch others enjoy endless flow of beef, dory fish, french fries and fried wanton?haha So he gave in and ordered too. Had a really awesome time! Kept laughing all the way. And CR pointed out something I totally did not realize. When I say "bullshit", I tend to stretch the "u" part. And yet, even though I know, I still say it!LOL

Went to Parkway Parade after that because CR wanted to look for iPad book cover, which I kept telling him to buy that day at Sim Lim Square when he bought his iPad-.-

Overall, had a rather great day!

But, nothing's ever perfect.

**************************************************************************
As for the Hangover II movie, I've my reasons for not going. It was like, gonna be the 4 of us. Sure, one couldn't come. That's okay. But to find a replacement doesn't mean it'll all be the same to me. I wasn't keen at all after that. Maybe I only see it that way, but for me the whole mood to go watch the movie was totally killed. Even asking the guy to come and watch won't change it. I feel like it's making him feel obliged to watch. If that thing didn't happen, and just 3 of us, sure why not? It's still okay. So, no. I'm done doing things "just for the sake of it" or forcing myself to do something just so that "it'll all be okay". Nobody benefits from it, and hence I don't see the point. So, hate me, blame me, shun me, mock me, ignore me, scold me. Get your friends to "anti" me, sure. I won't argue. Honestly, that kind of ticks me off. I'm not angry at this whole thing, but I don't like how people judge me just like that. I don't care if it's my relative, my good friend, or even the president. You want to "anti" me, I'll give you something to "anti" about, motherf#$%ing shitheads. So they see me as a bad guy. Not that I actually care. I don't even know them. I feel like saying "f$%# you" at them, but that benefits nobody. So I'll let them create their own illusion of me, for all I care. But know that not everyone believes the same things.

The more I think about it, the more pissed off I am. Spoils my really fulfilling day.

Honestly, F#$% OFF.

Cosplay Research

I've been checking out a lot of cosplay events and stuff just to see what people do, and realize that Singapore is more anime-inclined than comics-inclined. Means I'll see more anime cosplayers than I'd see one Spider-man cosplay. Hence, I wish to go to San Diego Comic Con! However, the tickets are already all sold out, and it's one month before the event! Damn sad. Looks like I'll make do with Singapore Toys, Games and Comics Convention in August. I saw the Youtube videos on the cosplay competition CosCon during the STGCC in 2009, and was quite surprised the Pac-man monster won. Maybe because his outfit was done by him, while those like the Hellgate and Predator cosplays were bought and pre-made already. Still contemplating on whether to make my outfit for cosplaying. But I just want to wear it at a Comic Con and step into a world full of comics and all that... one day I'll attend a Comic Con. Promise.haha And I don't understand why people like to mock those who cosplay. Sure, they are oversized, or their costumes are not very good, but to criticize so badly is just plain asshole. Even if I do find it off, I'd keep it to myself. Some people are just... dicks.

So yeah... that's more or less what I do with my free time. Even anime has lost it's appeal to me. All that's in my mind is planning the costume. My friends probably will laugh when(or if) I get the costume done. But I just want to give this cosplay thing a try. I mean, hey, next time you guys can tell your kids how uncle Jan once wore a superhero costume in his younger days. We only have one life; why not do things that you'll never get to do when you're dead?

Gym today, PC show, and also Jokhie's father's wake. Take care Jokhie.

A Day Of No Rest

Tomorrow was a day meant to relax and rest from the late movie, but I spent the entire day out! Not that it was a bad thing, though.

Was suppose to meet 10am at Tampines MRT station, but I woke up at 9:30am. I quickly showered and changed only to be informed that meet at 11am instead. Gave out flyers again from door to door, but this time we finished it rather fast! Took less than 2 hours!

After that Jeff and I went down to Milenia Walk to see Nicholas climb for Intermediate category finals! Really exciting to see the climbers do the routes. Can feel the thrill and excitement from just watching.haha Congrats on getting first for the competition! Now you can move on to Opens category!

Went to Sim Lim Square with CR after that to find his iPad. We walked around the entire mall, going to so many shops. I swear I always laugh so hard when I joke with him! Even watching some uncle singing Chinese songs in front of loads of uncles, we can laugh like crazy. Walked around until our legs were aching, so we decided to go Burger King to rest a bit. CR went to eat the ice from the cup of ice and spit it back in, then I cannot eat the ice -.- Went to Bugis Junction because I wanted to visit the comics shop, and CR asked if they sell those hentai comics there. WTH!haha

Since we had quite some time to kill before jamming, we went to play lan. 1v1 Blackshot and Counter-strike. I got my ass handed to me, but it was really fun! I was laughing so hard that my aim was moving everywhere such that I had to hide my character to finish laughing! Damn can't wait for a rematch!haha

Jamming with CR, Violet and Cheney was fun! Even though I played nothing(because I was totally not prepared, since CR only ask me to go in the afternoon), we had a blast playing around!

After everything was nearly midnight, and despite CR psycho-ing me to take cab, we could not find any, and ended up taking the train back.LOL

X-men: First Class Review *Spoilers!*

Spoilers ahead! If you've not watch the movie, highly recommended to not read this post!
When they first say that the movie X-men:First Class was coming out, I was pretty excited. If you read comics you'd know that that title belongs to the comic series involving the original X-men: Beast, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel, Iceman. However, knowing that this movie is related to the rest of the X-men movies(which I honestly do not like), my hopes kind of shattered. Because as a comic reader, I dislike how the whole "X-men movie" world deviates from the comics version.

Then I found out that this movie would not focus on the original X-men, but more of Charles Xavier and Magneto. Which made me even more disappointed about the movie. Hence, my rather low expectation.

However, the movie is generally good, and makes me almost want to forgive them for the first 3 movies. The action scenes are definitely much better than the first few movies. The way the characters fly and leap in the 1st three movies were rather awkward. But seeing Banshee fly around above the battleships were rather impressive. Havok's beams were pretty cool, especially the way he did it. I found the part where Hank raced Xavier barefooted rather weird. As in the way he ran so fast.

The plot was pretty good, and like reviews say, it feels like a James Bond movie. But that is not exactly a bad thing. The story does not drag, and the plot does not disappoint. There's no anti-climax either.

Emma Frost was better than anticipated, although I wished she was a bit younger. In fact, all the characters were well-portrayed, although I was hoping for more "common" mutants. Non-readers of comics may not know half the mutants in the movie.

My favourite part was the cameo appearance of Wolverine :)

There are flaws, however, in this movie, if it is to relate back to the previous movies. First and foremost, in the 3rd movie, Charles and Erik, looking rather bald and old, went to visit a young Jean Grey. Which contradicts this movie. Charles and Erik took sides even before Charles lost his hair, which I'm quite interested to see how the movie will explain his baldness in future. The fact that Havok is Cyclops younger brother means that Cyclops would be a few years older than Havok, which is too old for that time period. Also, Banshee is suppose to fall in love with Moira, who looks way older than him in the movie. And didn't the previous movies establish the fact that Cerebro was created by Charles and Magneto? In this movie it seems like Beast did most of the work.

However, this is all base on the comic-reader point of view. If I were to neglect all the previous movies and the comics, I'd definitely say that this movie is worth watching. Also, I'm pretty sure girls are squealing over the actors portraying Havok and Beast.

Before he was Magneto he was Erik.
Before he was crippled he was Charles.haha

On a final note, I loved Magneto's helmet at the end. Beats the previous movies' helmet hands down(although more effort could be put into his outfit).

10,000!

Woohoo! Thanks readers for helping me hit 10,000! Motivates me to continue blogging! :D
Met up with Eric, YH and Joanne for movie yesterday. My main purpose was actually to pass Eric his huge and heavy monitor though. But, it would be great if we actually did watch The Hangover 2. No thanks to Cathay, we didn't get our movie. And the service is just f***ed up. We went to Orchard Cineleisure, by the way. I've never been keen of going to that place. Always see weirdly-dressed people, and there are a lot of smokers. The building's crowded, the lifts are worse, and the Pastamania was so cramp it was uncomfortable. But had a good time overall!

The exam results are out! Some getting As, some getting Bs... I think I got a C.hahaha But I'm not going to confirm my suspicion. I'll check only after my two-week break is over! No point killing the holiday mood right?

Just watched the latest episode of Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. And I realized how good this particular anime is good. Very deep and emotional, yet it hits close to home.

X-men: First Class tonight! As much as I'm disappointed with the whole X-men movies, I'm quite looking forward to see how impressive this installment can be! Emma Frost better not disappoint!

Flyer Flyer Pants On Fire

First of all: Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai is over! I know most of you either don't know what that anime is, but to me it's one of the few anime I really love. It's at top place, second going to... K-ON!? K-ON! has a lot of awesome songs, and it's the nicest slice of life kind of anime I've watched so far. As for Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai, despite the fact that this is true route, which I had assume there would be some very wrong love between the two(go wiki "incest"), I'm quite glad the anime ended with no, or very little, hint of possible forbidden feelings between the two. To me, they just remain normal. No weird romance. Just a normal pair of sibling. Happy ending :)

So, now about my day. Today we gave out flyers about our newspaper collection that's in two weeks time for our community service project. We had to settle an area of Tampines today, and it made me realize that the folks staying at the blocks just across the street of Tampines Mall are damn lucky! You can cross the road to access 3 malls, a bus interchange, a MRT station, catch a movie, enjoy a huge selection of fast food, shop at places like Uniqlo, Topshop, Isetan, etc. Man, I want to stay at Tampines!

Also, I realize that there are a lot of Chinese people staying there. Today when giving out flyers door-to-door, countless of people ask me to speak in mandarin, which I totally suck at. When they spoke to me in Chinese, my mind just went blank. I couldn't even say "19 June" in Chinese. Fortunately, Jeff was there to help me.

There was one house, and inside was this old Indian or Malay lady. I wanted to tell her about the flyer I'm giving out. here's the conversation:
Me: "Hi, I'm from SMU-"
Lady: "Wait!"
Me: "I'm here about a newspaper collection-"
Lady: "Wait!"
Me: "It's on 19 June-"
Lady: "Wait!"

Me: "No, ma'am I'm not here to collect newspaper subscription money."

At one house, this old lady was standing at the door, as if she was waiting for us. And she spoke some mixture of Chinese and a dialect. Totally did not understand majority of what she said, but I nodded and gave her the flyer. Walking down the corridor again I saw her still standing there. Jeff said she probably had nothing to do.

At one level we saw this lady frying mushrooms at the staircase. Power.

There was one house where the door was open, but the gate closed. There were two rather sickly looking dogs barking at me, and the old man sitting inside just looked at me. So I threw the flyer in through the window. No way I was bringing my hand near the door.

Jeff managed to give flyer to a house with a chio bu!

I think one lady tried to teach me Chinese by making me talk about the flyer in Chinese -.-

Some people have too much money. To make the front door and gate so high-class looking...

One block can have up to six lifts. Nice.

At one block, for every floor, 2 units had access to lift only, while another 2 units had access to stairs only.

I saw one unit that had a f***ing awesome interior.

(Hopefully)The Hangover 2 tomorrow, and X-men:First Class on Saturday! Plus Domino's and swimming!

Time to sleep.

Is there anybody
Out there,
In here?

Hero Up!

Recently I tried this free game, which is currently beta version, online, called Marvel Super Hero Squad Online.
Yes, I know, it looks really kiddy. In fact, it is meant for targeted at kids. Just that, well, older people can play too. And as a Marvel Comics fan, I decided to try it out. I'd wait for Marvel Universe Online(Marvel's answer to DC Universe Online) but there's been news that it has been scrapped. So this is the alternative.
Now, the kid-friendly graphics of the game is not the only kid-friendly thing about the game; it's everything. The gameplay is simple for kids to pick up, and you can do funny expressions to communicate with other players online. Nothing obscene, violent, or vulgar to taint a kid's innocent soul. And yet, it's entertaining for older people like me. I enjoy the simplistic gameplay, the entertaining actions my characters can do, and roaming around the different locations is somewhat... relaxing. There's no tough boss(although I admit they are quite challenging, even for me), the fighting controls are easy. The only challenge you can make for yourself is being top scorer in the mission, or doing the last hit on the boss. Feels good when my Cyclops' mega optic beam crushes the boss in a slow-motion death. All credit goes to me :) Just kidding.

The game starts off with a tutorial, which is easy to digest and rather entertaining. Oh wait. You start with getting your squad name, which is randomized. So you keep clicking "random" until you find one you like. In my case, my squad is Psi Avenger Prime. Since everyone may be using identical characters, you are identified by your squad name, because no two person has the same squad name.
You start with 4 heroes: Falcon(doubt most people know him), Ms. Marvel(don't ask), Thing(from Fantastic Four, please know), and Cyclops(love him, and so glad he was starting hero). Because he's my favorite hero currently in the Marvel Universe(sorry Spider-man), I used Cyclops for most of my missions, hence him being at Max level first. I can now take all the KOs (aka kills) and get top score most of the time! But that's a challenge I usually set for myself. You can purchase heroes using Gold and Silver, although earning them is rather difficult, especially gold. Silver can still be obtained from missions. To obtain your money, you need tickets to spin this big wheel, like Wheel of Fortune. Also, with the beta version, there are codes given out to give us free heroes and S.H.I.E.L.D. membership. This membership is basically like those "platinum" or special membership in games where you can enjoy special privileges by spending real money. But, to attract new players, Marvel gave a code to allow players a limited free S.H.I.E.L.D. membership. Smart move. And I'm enjoying it!
The missions can be done solo of with people. You can send request from friends to join you in missions, or get random people to aid you. It's rather interesting to play together with other people, as there'll be more enemies to bash in order to reach the boss. Also, it means the boss won't be focusing on you all the time, allowing you to beat him up.
Basically this game reminds me of guild quests I see in World of Warcraft, combined with the kid-like graphics of Maple Story, add Marvel Universe contents in it, ensure that it's targeted at the younger audience, and there you have it: Marvel Super Hero Squad Online. Like the saying goes, don't knock it 'til you try it.
